Unless It's Black. Black Cats Are The Coolest.

Black cats have a bad reputation. Hanging out with witches. Giving you bad luck just by crossing your path. Or just sitting around looking spooky. Maybe that's why black cats are the least likely to be adopted from animal shelters. Our friends over at Furball Fables are on a mission to change the black cat's luck, so they made this delightful video to dispel some of the myths surrounding the coolest cats on the planet.

In addition to facts found by Fur Fables, I dug up a few more reasons to love our much-maligned and misunderstood charcoal-colored feline friends.
  • In Britain a black cat crossing your path signifies good luck.
  • The Egyptians worshipped the black cat god Bastet. They believed that hosting black cats in their households would bring Bastet's favor.
  • The arrival of a strange black cat to a Scottish home predicts prosperity to come.
  • Sailors chose black "ship's cats" because they would bring good luck. Sailors' wives often kept black cats as a way to keep their husbands safe while at sea.
  • Upon the death of Charles I's beloved black cat, he sadly declared that his "luck was gone". The next day, he was arrested and charged with high treason.
So the next time you see a black cat, befriend it. Or, if you're at a shelter, adopt it. And you might just change your luck — for the better.

Summer is almost here and you know what that means - sandal season! It's prime time for showing off your toes no matter where you go. Which means it's time to peel off the socks and boots and whip those toes into summertime shape.

We all love a pro pedicure, but the expense can really add up as summer wears on. With all the sun, surf and sand, you can easily wear out your pedicure in just a few days. But here's some good news: a few home remedies can keep your toes picture perfect all summer long - without the steep price tag.
  • Get rid of calluses. Soak your feet in warm (not hot) water for about twenty minutes and then use a pumice stone to remove loosened dead skin from heels and toes. But be gentle. If you scrub too much, you'll expose the tender skin underneath, which can be painful. Massage your feet with a Neem or Karanja oil-based moisturizer and then slip into some cotton socks to seal in the healing.
  • Eat healthy for healthy cuticles. You are what you eat and so are your feet. Vitamins A through E and biotin help keep cuticles healthy. Add brewer's yeast to smoothies and munch on walnuts for healthy cuticles and nails.
  • Exfoliate with every wash. Add a tiny amount of ground apricot seed to liquid soap for a super effective and non-toxic exfoliating wash. Use every day in the shower and don't forget to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.
If you follow this simple, inexpensive routine, your toes will be beach-ready in no time!

Some people are just naturally charismatic. And so are some dogs. That's why so many pet parents set up personal social media accounts for their best friends. They post pictures of their cute canines doing adorable things. Like sleeping.

But those candid canine pics could pay off in a big way. Marketers are now combing through social media looking for the perfect pooches for their advertising clients. Which has entrepreneurial dog owners rushing to create the perfect viral Instagram and Facebook posts to catch the eyes of agents.

Now there's even an app for that: Waggle. Post pics of your photogenic pup and you might end up with a five-figure payday from advertisers like PetSmart, Heinz or Nikon, among others. So if you have a good dog who's also good looking, fire up the social media. Maybe you and your pretty pooch can put some extra bones in the bank!

Been sticking to your dieting New Year’s Resolution? If you have, that means you've struggled through five months of self-denial and you've given your willpower a good work out. Such unfailing dedication deserves the sweetest of rewards — No Diet Day! Today you're free to shake off the shackles of your diet and eat whatever you like, whenever you like.

But No Diet Day isn't just about eating yourself into a coma. It was started to promote a healthy life style, no matter what your body type. The idea is that bodies are beautiful in all shapes and sizes — from athletic to Rubenesque and everything in between. Since strict diets often fail, ending up in yo-yo weight loss and gain, organizations all over the world celebrate the holiday to help people break the unhealthy ups and downs of dieting.

So, how to celebrate?
  • Recognize that your body is beautiful exactly as it is.
  • Worry less about shedding pounds and more about living  a healthier lifestyle all year long.
  • Take the focus off your final goal weight and think more about getting active and eating healthy foods.
Quick weight loss or trying to remake your body type into something it's not is a sure way to cause more harm than good. So, today and every day, focus on good health and love yourself just the way you look today.
